Welcoming More Than Ever

In 2025, the Port of Corner Brook celebrated its longest cruise season to date, welcoming ships from March through October and hosting 24 calls that brought more than 30,000 passengers and nearly 16,000 crew to Western Newfoundland.

The season marked several important milestones, including the Port’s first winter cruise visit and multiple maiden calls from leading cruise lines, underscoring Corner Brook’s growing international profile and expanding appeal beyond the traditional cruise window.

Central to this success was the launch of the port’s enhanced Welcome Program, which transformed the arrival experience with new market sheds, accessible amenities, cultural signage, selfie spots, and expanded seating, creating an immediate and vibrant sense of place for visitors.

With strong summer and fall traffic alike, the Port continues to build momentum as a premier Atlantic Canadian destination, welcoming more visitors than ever to experience the region’s scenery, culture, and hospitality.

Cruising Beyond

the Seasons

The arrival of Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot marks a new chapter for Corner Brook, proving our port and region are ready to welcome cruise visitors beyond the traditional summer window.

Designed to navigate winter waters, this groundbreaking expedition vessel brings guests to experience Western Newfoundland’s spectacular cold-season landscapes and adventures, from snow-covered fjords to skiing, snowshoeing, and authentic local culture.

As winter cruising grows, Corner Brook continues to strengthen its position as a four-season destination, connecting travellers to unforgettable experiences year-round.
