In 2024, the Port of Corner Brook experienced another strong year, reinforcing its role as a vital gateway for regional and international trade. A total of 409,811 metric tonnes of cargo were handled across all major cargo types, supporting key industries and contributing to the region’s economic growth. The port facilitated 232,340 metric tonnes of inbound cargo and 177,471 metric tonnes of outbound cargo, demonstrating a balanced and efficient flow of goods. 

Containerized cargo remained a key driver of port activity, with 176,655 metric tonnes exported globally to more than 35 countries, reflecting continued demand for the port’s reliable international shipping service. Liquid bulk volumes reached 181,639 metric tonnes, while dry bulk shipments totaled 51,174 metric tonnes – highlighting the port’s capacity to manage a wide range of cargo. The strong performance across these sectors showcases the port’s adaptability, operational strength, and commitment to supporting its partners and the broader economy.

Dry bulk volumes included salt, cement, and other key materials supporting regional industries.
